What’s included in this package?

3 Prenatal Visits

We’ll have three spacious visits to talk through your questions, hopes, and concerns. We’ll cover the basics and so much more. There are countless myths and misunderstandings around birth in our culture. Through our conversations we’ll dispel those and get to the heart of the birth that you want.

I often find that the more couples learn the more (and better!) questions they have have. This is great! You may find you have options you didn’t know were available to you or that you have strong feelings about something you didn’t know you cared about. Our prenatal visits are meant to get you talking, asking, thinking, and learning so you can feel confident going into birth and parenthood.

These visits are a mix of structure and flow. Each visit has a customized agenda to make sure we touch on important topics and there’s always time for natural dialogue and questions.

Let’s get dinner.

Our first prenatal visit will be over dinner at your favorite local restaurant. Why? Because this package is more than birth support. It’s a celebration of you, your pregnancy, and your preparation for birth. What better way to get started than breaking bread together?

Text and Email Support

Over the course of your pregnancy you’ll have ongoing text and email access to me. I’m here to share in your journey and answer the questions that come up between visits. For past clients this has taken many different forms - from lending a nonjudgmental ear to more specific support like coaching you through setting healthy boundaries, ask for what you need, or navigating other parts of preparing for parenthood.

Resources

I’ve cultivated a collection of my favorite resources for you. Most couples don’t realize how many choices there are to make during pregnancy. I’m ready with articles, videos, book recommendations, and my own handouts when questions arise. I can also make recommendations for local perinatal professionals (Webster certified chiropractors, maternal mental health therapists, etc.) as needed.

A note about support during your pregnancy

It’s true that birth is ‘just one day’ but your experience of that day is greatly affected by how you prepare during pregnancy. What you learn and how you put that knowledge into action will make a world of difference in how you experience your birth and postpartum period.

Having your doula at your birth is invaluable, but the importance of the work you’ll do (and fun you’ll have!) during pregnancy can’t be underestimated. It’s my privilege to support you through this season of life, not just on a single day.

Birth Support

Your on call support begins at 38 weeks. As your labor approaches we’ll be in close contact. We’ll talk through ‘when to call’ and what early labor signs look like. I’ll be with you in person from active labor onward, including a short while after baby’s arrival as you begin to bond.

Postpartum Visit

This cozy home visit is a beautiful opportunity to talk through your birth story and reflect on your experience. It’s also a time to talk about your transition to parenthood and ask any questions you may have.

Your family is safe and welcome here.
