This live Study Group is only 8 weeks but it will bolster your parenting confidence for years to come.
Nothing in parenting is a quick fix no matter how tempting those “solutions” seem. The real secret sauce comes from looking in the mirror: working on ourselves so we can show up as the parents we want to be.
This highly supportive group is an opportunity to do this work in joyful and intentional community. The live calls are designed to guide and support you through your own growth with plenty of time to discuss your unique challenges and wins. Led by certified life coach and doula Samantha Yeaton, this group will help you discover or expand upon your own effective parenting style.
The foundational philosophy for this Study Group is that while parenting practices may work for one situation or one child, it’s parenting principles that help us work smart, not hard. Principles are timeless and universal. They are our saving grace when we feel pressured by how we think we’re “supposed” to parent and disconnected from our own inner wisdom.
For this reason, we’ll be using Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as our guiding text.
PLEASE NOTE: I’m not here to give you homework! If you want to read along week by week and feel it will support your growth, that’s awesome. If you prefer to absorb these concepts solely through attending the calls you will not be behind. You know yourself best; please participate in a way that honors your needs right now.
In 2023, parents are overwhelmed with misinformation yet starving for insight and community. This group lovingly supports your own intuition, values, and goals while offering new concepts to consider so you can be the parent you want to be.
Together we’ll cover:
our mindset and self-talk: our kids see it all
tangible ways to de-escalate our kids and ourselves
how to get and stay on the same parenting page with our partner
beginning with the end in mind: visualizing the future to inform how we parent today
parent-pleasing, people-pleasing, and how to stop the cycle
winning “private victories” (our inner work) before “public victories” (seeing the results in our child)
paradigm shifts in how we view our children vs how we were viewed as children
overwhelm and sensory overload in parenting!
grace, self-forgiveness, and learning from our experiences
